How does the app optimize your data usage?

The Optimize solution controls the bit rate/speed of both HTTP and HTTPS delivered video content, of the video data that is delivered to device the video player.

For adaptive streams, this allows the Optimize app to dynamically control which bitrate stream is served so that the optimal stream is selected.  The app can reduce the video delivery speed internally within the device without reducing the external delivery speed from the cellular network.

In addition, the app’s patented caching technology (HTTP only) automatically learns what to cache based on the user’s behavior. Specifically, it automatically identifies the content a user accesses repeatedly and thus targets caching for just the content that is worthwhile to cache.
