When does the VPN get enabled?

The Secure Wi-Fi app will automatically establish a VPN for you when you connect to any public Wi-Fi network. There is nothing you need to do to enable the VPN.  For password protected Wi-Fi networks, you have to manually turn on the Secure Wi-Fi service.
